Thread In Motion - Embroidery workshops for beginners
Duration: January - June 2018 / two Saturdays per month from 2 - 4pm
Thread In Motion: Embroidery workshops for beginners was a pilot project, an invitation to learn, show and share stitch-ins. The emphasis was on learning basic embroidery techniques through the use of needle and thread, fabric and vintage photographs; through traditional to some unusual contemporary approaches.
Embroidery artists are invited to share their work and to guide us through their techniques. This was an embroidery series for beginners and it was our hope that this would be a pilot project where we would learn embroidery techniques together.
Most of the final work created by each participant will be shown in a group art show in 2019 in NYC.

Locations: Museum of the Moving Image, NYPL 53rd St., Elizabeth Garden, AAA3A, ID Studio Theater, Fanny Allie’s and Devon Osorio’s studios.
