Snapshots features a diverse blend of mixed media art and photography offering glimpses into various aspects of everyday life by Bronx siblings Kephera Nuru Ife and Darryl Ebanks.
Kephera's presentation encompasses both two-dimensional and three-dimensional artistic interpretations of pop culture and related scenarios, infused with playful elements of nature such as flowers and mushrooms to add a touch of enchantment to select pieces. With her skilled craftsmanship of using wood and paper, these creations will be brought to life, providing an enjoyable and captivating viewing experience for all. She passionately asserts that art should always remain accessible, and by infusing one's soul into it, you can forge a lasting connection with the minds and hearts of others that endures through eternity.
Darryl will present a collection of emotional snapshots that reveal the diverse facets of New York City. The city is characterized by its vibrant, lively colors, yet it also possesses an underbelly of darkness and grit. His goal is to discover innovative methods for harmonizing the multitude of concepts and sentiments associated with this city, which he proudly calls home.
* The workshop will incorporate paper and Polaroid materials, allowing participants to craft their own miniature snapshots.
Kephera Nuru Ife graduated from Syracuse University with a BA in Fashion Design. She began as a fashion illustrator and eventually ventured into realism. She however kept her original signature drawing style, evolving over time. She incorporated sculpture in 2020 using clay and primarily wood to achieve her whimsical and detailed design aesthetic. She aspires to further advance her work and extend her reach to a broader audience.
Darryl Ebanks, a versatile visual artist based in New York City, primarily channels his talents into the realms of photography, filmmaking, and writing. Embarking on his creative path nearly a decade ago, his affinity for capturing images has transcended mere passion and evolved into a profound dedication. This devotion is unwavering, as he strives to encapsulate the true essence of the subjects that come before Darryl's lens.
